Soul EV Battery
Speaking of power, the driving force behind the 2018 Kia Soul EV is a lithium-ion polymer battery that hold 30 kWh of energy in order to maximize driving range. That’s not the only thing this battery has been made to optimize. Thanks to its slim shape, the battery fits underneath the floor of the Soul EV. This frees up more cabin space and allows for better handling thanks to a lower center of gravity. All of this combines with the instant torque provided by the engine to provide you with an exhilarating ride that only a Kia can provide.
Soul EV Driving Range
In order to charge up your battery to make full use out of the impressive driving range the Soul EV possesses, you’ll need to plug it in to one of three different charging systems. First, the 120V charger uses the same outlets that you already have at your home. It’s the easiest way to charge and like your phone, will be ready to go in the morning. Next, the 240V charger is what you’ll typically find at public charging stations, and can even have installed at your home. With these bad boys sending power to your battery, you’ll reach a full charge in about 5 hours. Finally, we have the DC Fast charger. Because the Soul EV is the only EV that comes with the DC Fast Charge port, you’ll always be able to hook up to a 480-volt charger to reach about 80% in as little as half an hour. When the Soul EV is fully charged, it boasts an incredible driving range of up to 111 miles!
