Sure, you may not have envisioned yourself driving a van 10 or 15 years ago, but there’s just no way you’d be able to fit everything your life requires in your old T-bird. Plus, thanks to many advancements in automotive technology, vans are some of the safest vehicles on the road.
Vans are a great way to feel safe on the road. They’re larger than cars and provide more room between your precious cargo and the potential dangers of the road. But how else do vans keep you and your family safe? Join us here at Kia of Irvine as we take a look at the available safety technologies on the 2018 Kia Sedona.
Lane Departure Warning System
Available on the 2018 Sedona, the Lane Departure Warning System utilizes a camera located behind the rear-view mirror to read the markings on the road. Reading these markings gives the system a sense of your position within your lane, and allows the system to detect when you begin to accidentally veer out of your lane. When this happens, the system will automatically warn you with an audible and visual warning to get your attention.
Surround View Monitor
Also available on the 2018 Sedona is a Surround View Monitor. Four cameras placed all around the vehicle come together to provide you with a bird’s-eye view of the area surrounding your Sedona. This image is presented on your touchscreen display, and lets you see everything around you as you attempt to back into a parking stall, or as you try to get in to or out of any tight spaces. You can even choose different camera views to see exactly how close you are to anything next to you.
