Mt. Waterman

Over in the Angeles National Forest, Mt. Waterman has been a local favorite for disc golf in the summer, and skiing and snowboarding in the winter. If you’re not the most skilled person on skis or a snowboard, feel free to sign up for a couple classes where you’ll learn the basics and how to get down the hill without crashing every couple feet. All of the snow on Mt. Waterman is natural, so it’s always best to call before going to make sure there is enough powder to shred.

Buckhorn Lodge

If you’re looking for an old-fashioned off-the-grid mountain getaway, the Buckhorn Lodge is the perfect place for you. While it doesn’t have electricity, this charming cabin offers solar-powered lights, spring-fed water, a gorgeous fireplace, and a propane tank to heat the water and the stove. You’ll love the seclusion as you ski cross-country through the majestic landscape around the lodge, and when you’re done, throw a couple logs on the fire and relax as the heat melts away your stress.
