We haven’t learned solid information yet about the 2017 Kia Forte release date. This compact car will be constructed in North America in Monterrey, Mexico. Production was slated to begin earlier this year, so we are expecting to see the first 2017 Forte models in our new Kia inventory later in 2016. We have our fingers crossed for the third quarter of the year, but it may not be until the end of 2016. Powertrain Advances on the 2017 Forte

The base engine in the Kia Forte for the 2017 model year will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated for 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. This engine offers a slight improvement on the 2016 Kia Forte‘s 1.8-liter model, which was rated for 145 horsepower and 130 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be mated to either a manual or automatic six-speed transmission, and should offer improved fuel economy compared to last year’s model.

The 2017 Kia Forte will also be available with the 164-horsepower and 151-pound-feet 2.0-liter four-cylinder mated to the same refined new six-speed automatic transmission.
